Welcome to IES (Intelligent Enterprise and Education Systems) Research Group!Introduction
We are a group of researchers who devote our attention to the study of intelligent enterprise and intelligent education. Intelligent Enterprise Intelligent EnterpriseIntelligent Enterprise applies technology (e.g. AI) optimization, data mining, and scheduling and new service paradigms to the challenge of improving business performance. Our team has been exploring new approaches to modeling well scheduling processes in oil and gas industry and proposing new mechanisms and glaorithms. We use the notion of virtual enterprise with intelligent agents and multiagent systems technologies. Woring with an industrial partner, we study how to develop a flexible well scheduling application that will assist in the scheduling of resources across the well lifecycle. Intelligent EducationInformation and Communication Technology (ICT), esp. the Internet and the World Wide Web, has been revolutionizing education. Educational systems are computerized and networked. They are virtual worlds. They become fertile soil for artificial intelligence (AI) that makes educational systems smart and efficient for both educators and learners. For example, the Internet is an ideal non-physical world for intelligent agents. Also the only limitation in them is imagination. When we work together, we can make things happen. We are a group of researchers who devote our attention to the study of AI for education. We live in different cities of the world. We meet online frequently via Skype or Adobe connect. Thanks to the funding from NSERC, CFI, and Athabasca University of Canada, our group's research themes include: Multiagent Systems Animated Pedagogical Agents Program Planning and Scheduling Social Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence Virtual Worlds for Education User modeling Collaborative AR for e-Learning Multi-learner Adaptive Testing Games Adaptive Learning etc. News: Congratulations to our team member Mr. Mike Procter on being successful in his application to the Alberta Innovates Technology Futures (AITF) 2013-2014 graduate student scholarship!
